I notice something strange. Despite having been sedentary for a long while now, I notice that my shoulders, arms, and back look well-formed, even if I have gotten a belly already.
One could argue that it is because of the fact that I grew up being very physically active and even went to the gym back for four months in total in the last 5 years. And in those 5 months, I worked out more than 30 minutes everyday.
But at the same time, there is no way that my body is still that formed. But it does look formed. It looks like I'm just one second away from working out, but with the belly.
Perhaps I've been working out without really considering certain actions as working out.
I am not saying this because I need advice.
I only noticed this when my friend told me, and then I suddenly came to the realization that it is true—it still looks well-formed, because I can easily compare it with others and see just how much worse it should look. But it doesn't look as bad as it should. It is not that I look like I have defined muscles, but the shape appears muscular.
So I really look like someone in his twenties who used to be athletic in their childhood, given that is indeed my background. Many have drastic changes—from athletic to thin or athletic to carrying no sign of their former self. But I appear to retain the shape of my more athletic younger self.
When I was working out at the gym, I was told by body builders (patrons) and coaches there that I was very drastic and capable like I was genetically gifted, but I did not pursue it due to writing. Even if it sounds nice to look well, I feel that in the long run, it is better to know oneself and to make sense of everything instead of just playing around. I am not discouraging working out, but I do indeed feel that my current lifestyle is better off in the long run. Minimal exercise, as opposed to working out 2 hours a day for a span of time at one point, is more sustainable in light of my main interests.
